Wayfinding, being site specific, is a way of directing people to a certain place and encouraging a flow of movement in a particular direction. The MOTAT example shown here is in a public museum space which needs to also account for health and safety concerns.
Wayfinding signs are crucial to any business ensuring that members of the public can find them easily, and navigate buildings once inside. When done nicely, they provide an opportunity to extend the companies brand identity.
Creating maps is an integral part of wayfinding, and is another favourite discipline of mine, not just for the design, but as a way communicate that is well thought out for the end user.
